The book itself looks fine. Good quality, but it has been mishandled during shipping and has a dented edge :( Really annoying to have to give a Christmas gift that is damaged.

Excerpts and illustrations explain the individual knots very clearly and invite you to master the techniques. The book itself has an elegant impression. The difficulty rating can be debated; personally, I find some level 3 knots much easier than some level 1 knots.

The book is a manual not only for beginners. Very demanding people who tie a tie every day and on special occasions will find many interesting knot patterns that they will consider tying. The instructions on how to tie a tie are very clear.
